It Comped 244 Cards While I Wrote This
A genius employee who works 24/7, costs $200 a month, and is kind of dumb.
AI is fun!
Wow.
You can kind of build anything you want.
It’s a personal assistant you can put to work 24/7 if you want — and work its a** off.
Isn’t that everyone’s dream? Maybe just mine.
I don’t sense that many people are using it that much.
It requires a level of patience.
It’s not TikTok or Instagram.
You can’t just mindlessly scroll it.
I spend $200 a month on a max Anthropic plan.
So it’s not exactly Netflix cost.
No matter how you look at it, the barrier to using it is actually kind of high.
I’m getting pretty old, and the only tech inventions on par with the current version of AI in my lifetime are the iPhone and the internet.
Nothing else is really close.
You start to treat it like an employee.
One who is capable as f*ck. Harvard, Stanford, MIT mfer-level genius.
But kind of dumb at the same time. LOL
It works too fast and rushes through to get to an endpoint.
It’s up to you to slow it down.
Refine tasks over days, weeks, and months.
AI does so much for you, but it’s definitely not for the lazy.
Recently I’ve gotten it to analyze, comp, and essentially place bids for me on eBay sports card auctions.
I’m not selling anything in this newsletter or with the content.
So literally, I can’t gain from this.
But if you’re a sports card dealer who buys cards online — even if it’s just 30 minutes to an hour a day — you NEED to start using AI.
For example: while I was writing this, it comped 244 unique cards in 8 minutes. With some optimization, that would be cut to under a minute.
Can you look up 244 cards in 8 minutes? Then spit out a CSV file with 53 bids?
And that was just the under-$30 cards, for one seller on eBay.
LOL
Like I said — I don’t even have a link where you can buy my cards.
So please, if you got this far, do yourself a favor and start building something.

This sounds like a great AI use case, any chance the other AI platforms will do this sort of thing for free or vibe code some solution?
I’ve been contemplating this for a while and recently began researching it. Did you completely start from scratch for the project you built? I appreciate the excellent article.
